A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

It is an ideal attitude that Scouts should strive to display, based on the Scout Oath and Law. The Law emphasizes positive personal virtues, while the Scout Oath stresses duty. Scout Spirit applies to how a Scout lives and conducts their daily life, both in and out of Scouting.
